Find out about how your mind works. This is an interactive workshop showing practical demonstrations of how your brain affects your reality and will include mind-bending tips and tricks to make the most out of your life and your learning, from the Head of Psychology at Bootham School.

Welcome to the world of Drama. Explore the use of key drama skills and apply these to creating a character for performance. Once we have created and developed our characters we will enter the imaginary and haunted location of Darkwood Manor, where you will meet many unusual characters who will give you information to help you create one final performance using the character you have created and the location of Darkwood manor as your starting point. Do you dare enter Darkwood Manor?

Year 5 & 6
Learn to create your own secret messages and then how to decode other peoples. We will use the power of computers to break a code 2000 years old and see how today’s spies keep secrets. Finally you will work in teams to break into our safe and find out what treasures it contains.

Year 5 & 6
Work in our Design Technology Workshop and see the laser cutter in action. Make a pencil holder using traditional woodwork tools and workshop machinery. Get a taste of traditional woodworking mixed with new technology.

Energetic Chemistry: practicals and demos exploring the role of energy in Chemistry.
May involve some explosions!

Work in our dedicated art studio, with an artist, to create your own masterpiece to take home at the end of the session.
